We Can Grow Carrots!
We have been trying to grow vegetables for a while now, but haven’t had much luck…until now! This is a one of the carrots that we planted late last fall. I know, we have weird timing. We were impatient. But it looks like a carrot. It tastes like a carrot. We must be doing something right :)
This is so exciting to me! Funny how something so simple as growing a carrot can feel so amazing. I work on a computer all day so to get my hands dirty and dig into the earth and grow something is a wonderful experience. I’m also proud of it as it’s much better for the environment to eat local food — and what’s more local than your backyard! — as opposed to food that is shipped hundreds, if not thousands of miles.
Mom, I’m hoping the next time you come out to San Francisco you can give me a few pointers!
