Grandma’s House & Silver Dollar City
Christmas Day we all drove up to Grandma’s house. It was freezing outside, but the warm fireplace, lots of people, good food and plenty of blankets kept us warm and happy.
The following day we drove up to Silver Dollar City in Missouri. It was absolutely freezing outside but we had a good time. Oddly enough, I think it got warmer after dark. Strange.
Tyler, Hannah, Spencer and I (Derrek) ran around this folksy little city. We ran the only two rides they had, Fire in the hole and some shoot em ride that I can’t remember what it’s called. Both rides were fun but I think I preferred the shoot em up ride because it was more of a game. You sat in this little boat with an electronic gun. As you floated through the ride you shot all of these little targets. If you hit the target you got 100 points and sometimes it would affect the scenario around it. If the target was next to a light, the light would go on and off each time you hit it. Or if it was trap door it would open and close. Lots of cool little things like that.
There also a lot of little shops with lots of crafty things. Tyler and I think Spencer bought a hand made cup. Oh, did I mention they have 4 million Christmas lights there? Well they do!
I almost forgot, we also got to see a pretty decent performance of a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
